We are thrilled to present exclusively at Masterpiece a preview of our forth-coming exhibition William Klein: Paintings, Etc. The gallery show coincides with a major exhibition at Tate Modern in October 2012, along with the publication of two wonderful new books: 'ABC' from Tate Publishing, and Paintings, Etc by co-published by Contrasto, HackelBury Fine Art and Howard Greenberg Gallery.
William Klein is cult figure in photography and film, and although long noted as a painter his early work has remained largely unseen for over sixty years. We are delighted to reveal a selection of extremely rare paintings from the late 1940's and early 1950's, along with several projects from that era that are realised here for the first time. We will feature a small group of unknown and unseen abstract silver gelatin works, along with a monumental painted Mural Project.
